Auntie Litter’s 2nd annual “Go Fore the Green” Golf Tournament at Tannehill National Golf Course was a big success! Golfers enjoyed a beautiful day and received great gift bags which included Earth Day T-shirts, gift coupons, golf balls and more. John Simonnetti of Johnny Ray’s BBQ donated a delicious BBQ lunch for all the players. Golden Flake Snack Foods provided a variety of snacks and Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and the Alabama Crown Distributing Company kept the golfers supplied with cold beverages. Representatives of Hoover’s Sam’s Club Marketing Department donated their valuable time as hard working and enthusiastic volunteers.

The two first, second, and third place winners received a total of $3000 in gifts from area restaurants and businesses. Door prizes were also given to participants.

The highlight of the day was the Putting Contest with a cash award of $250. Golfer, Stuart Dansby, wasn’t able to participate in the tournament because of wrist surgery, but attended the event to be with his friends. He decided to enter the contest. With a borrowed a club, a cast on his arm, and a cigar in his mouth, Stuart hit the hole in one! The crowd had a good laugh. Stuart graciously contributed the cash award back to Auntie Litter, Inc. Thank you golfers and sponsors for a great fundraiser!
