Take Pride Statewide 2011

4th Annual Conference for Litter Prevention to Focus on Disaster Recovery Processes 2 for 1 Early Bird Discount Runs Through July 31st!

TakePride Statewide Since its launch in 2008, the Take Pride Statewide campaign has been endorsed by Former Governor Bob Riley and First Lady Patsy Riley, and football legend, Bart Starr. Keynote Speakers have included Hollywood actor, Ed Begley, Jr., U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions, AL Senator J.T. “Jabo” Waggoner, and Coach Pat Dye. The conference provides workshops on litter-prevention education and related environmental issues, such as the 2010 Gulf oil spill and the 2011 monster tornadoes that recently crippled communities around Alabama on April 27.

This year’s conference will address the topics that concern every community such as litter, recycling, and waste reduction, but it will also focus on how our communities can prepare for an environmental disaster and discuss the statewide recovery resources that are available to Alabama residents when a disaster strikes. Participants will learn strategies from experts such as how to determine sources of funding for their community programs while developing a statewide network for idea sharing and problem solving. Communities around the state of Alabama will be honored with Take Pride Statewide Awards for implementing “green” initiatives to help protect the state’s natural resources. Early Bird Registration for the 2011 Take Pride Statewide Conference is currently underway. Those registering at full price of $100 can register one guest for FREE until July 31, 2011! Every guest thereafter is only $50 per person.
